Last updated: May 5, 2025
Does Rutter encrypt and store data?
All data that passes through Rutter’s APIs is encrypted and stored securely in Rutter’s database. This includes both data at rest and data in transit to ensure the highest level of security.
Examples of data Rutter stores include:
User data (such as credentials and connections)
Data retrieved from APIs and webhooks
What happens when user data is deleted?
If user data is requested for deletion, Rutter will permanently remove it from our database.
Once deleted, the data becomes irrecoverable after 30 days.
If a connection is deleted, all associated items and credentials will be permanently deleted after 7 days.
If a connection is accidentally deleted, please contact Rutter Support within 7 days. After that, recovery will no longer be possible.
How long are API requests, responses, and webhook logs stored?
Rutter temporarily stores:
API requests and responses
Webhooks sent to your application
You can view:
API requests and POST responses in your Logs Dashboard
Webhooks events in your Webhook Dashboard
These logs are available for 14 days through the Rutter Dashboard.
How long does Rutter retain logs for API requests and webhooks?
Rutter retains logs for API requests, responses, and webhooks for up to 30 days.
Logs are searchable in your dashboard for the first 14 days.
After 14 days, you can still retrieve logs by contacting Rutter Support, as long as it's within 30 days of the original event.
After 30 days, all logs are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
